121 miles on the Camino!
Logrono>Najera
I’m in the triple digits! I’m 121 miles into the Camino!! Got very hot, but there was a great breeze from time to time. I sang with a group of French pilgrims! We sang a round of oh when the saints. It was fun for about 5 minutes, but singing and waking is really tough! Big smiles and waves and they continued on. Got electrolyte advise from Kevin from Vancouver. Had 2 big glasses of locally grown orange juice, local to about 30 feet, you could see the trees from the stand. More Casa especial tapas for lunch. Terrain is changing, lots of clay in the soil. Arrived a red dusty mess in Najera about 1:30, had I not checked my map I would have kept waking! Miles went by fast and I’m feeling strong!
Pilgrim meal 1st course, for one person! Amazing red bean stew. I could only eat a third!
2nd course trout was excellent. Didn’t photograph desert. Included wine and bread for €12!
Have more people take pictures of you on the trail… we need to see you more! Love the pictures. See you in two short weeks! Woo Hoo…
That Mona – such a sucker for her sweetheart!!
Great looking feet says your mother.
These pics would be exciting to scrapbook….continue to have a great time and stay safe….
Hi Derek! I spoke to Mona and she was telling me about your trip. What an amazing adventure! I love looking at your posts and pictures- thanks for sharing your journey! Stay safe and enjoy!
Having an amazing time, can’t wait to meet Mona is Saria! Miles are tough but it’s incredible here!
Your mother told me about your adventure last week. Tonight is the second time I’ve been able to follow your walk. What beautiful pictures! I’m sure you will never forget this experience for the rest of your life. How many object lessons you will have for the future!!! So glad I am able to follow you…but it sure makes my feet feel weary. May the journey change you for life and be a great blessing!
Thanks so much for the message. Every day is an adventure, and an amazing experience!
I must have “sympathy” pain….my feet hurt looking at your feet. 🙂
Love the pictures….keep them coming.
It’s amazing how the body adapts. I feel so fortunate to be blister free, I’ve seen some feet that were a mess! Feeling strong, can’t wait to see Mona tomorrow!
