Tuesday, June 11 – Leaving Casa de Laura

The taxi of shame is losing its sting.  I have to stop to remind myself this is a vacation and it’s great to find balance between tourist and Pilgrim.  The pavement and cobblestones are giving way to larger sections of natural path surrounded by corn and hay. We spent a lot of miles winding through walled village streets built to keep pilgrims on the way.  The trail is well blazed and easy to follow. Unfortunately the Camino Central does not have the public water fountains that were commonplace on the Camino Francis. Food for the day was simple. Hard boiled eggs, baguette with ham, cheese and tomato, espresso and water.  Fresh cherries at a Supermarcato were a treat. We reunited with Dan & Eunice and walked the remaining miles into town that day crossing over a beautiful bridge, got our stamp at a Cathedral and checked into our Albergue. Waiting until 7pm for dinner was a challenge so we passed the time with beer & snacks.
