Gear Guide

Derek’s Pack  Weighs 11.6 Pounds!

camino pack new2

IMG_8310.JPGMy equipment list is fairly standard for a long distance trekker.  I’ve walked a couple hundred miles with this configuration and its broken in nicely.

This pack list is pre-camino!  I’ll post a follow up after I’m back with info on how this gear held up!

Packing Tip:

bags2Digging through a pack for some small doo-dad is frustrating to say the least.  I keep  small stuff in 3 stuff sacks that pack in a super light sling bag made by ChicoBag.

The bags divide into three catagories. I have a first aid /repair kit in one bag, electronics in a small drybag, and toiletries in the third.  The toiletries bag also has enough room for a change of clothes after a shower.

I can quickly pull out of my pack throw over a shoulder and quickly locate what I need.  I think this will also be a great bag for “end of the day walking around” on the Camino.

  1. Hi Derek. I leave Australia for Paris in June 23 then will work my way south. I was only introduced to the Comino 2 weeks ago on the recommendation of my son – I booked flights last week – so do not have too much time for organisation.
Thank you for your list – I will definitely be using this as a guide – however I am female which makes it tough hahaha. Look forward to following you
    Buen Comino
