Just logging miles…
5k 9/3 Amazing morning run before sunrise, the trail was blanketed in mist.
5k 9/4 The trail looks completely different at 6:00pm. Lots of commuter bikes and other folks out for a walk run or spin. I wasn’t planning on running this afternoon, but my shoes called to me . They didn’t get a run this morning.
5K road race today 30.23
I ran the Worthington Hills 5K today.
My wife Mona skipped the run (she ran 11 on saturday) and cheered me on at the finish along with my cousin Anne in from NYC. Post race celebration was held at waffle house. This was my first actual race in 5 years? It feels great to be running again!
RESULTS:
185/273 Derek Fitzer 112/134 Columbus 38 30:28 9:49
I ran my human race today – 1.33.37
my first 10k in half as many years, It’s a “new” distance for me, 5k being my longest post RA. My route ended up at just over 7.5 miles and my 1:33.37 put me right around 12 minutes per mile. Cardio felt fine, around 5.5-6 the balls of my feet started to swell and turn to mush. Par for the course for a long run. My route was an out and back along the olentangy trail from ackerman to park of roses and back.

Miles
I’ve been gettin up early these days. School starts next wed. and I’ve been getting in the habit of getting up early, about 5am. I’ve run 5 of the past 7 days around 2-3 miles per day. The columbus 1/2 marathon might be an option this year.
