Welcome to Mobile Apps at the South-Western Career Academy
We’re Going Virtual!
App developers commonly work remotely so this will be a great opportunity to develop remote working skills. Stay Safe and Stay Positive! I’ve built a new site for our virtual classroom.
Check out our podcast: The Mobile Apps Podcast – Episode 1 Hello World
In this episode: No Image Literals in Xcode 10, The new Mini vs the Macbook Air, Silk Interactive Art Generator, and a Pan Gesture Recogniser Hackwitch.
Building apps is an amazing way to learn to code. Students create a simple app within the first week of school. Check a student code review to see what they have created in the first month of the program.
Learn A Cutting Edge Language
Swift is a general-purpose, multi-paradigm, programming language produced by Apple. For iOS, MacOS, watchOS, tvOS, and Linux. Quick is made to use Apple’s Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks and also the large body of existing Objective-C (ObjC) code written for Apple products. Swift will probably be more resilient to incorrect code (“safer”) than Objective-C, and much more concise.
